Paper Preparation

Full papers submitted to COMPEL 2025 must conform to the standard IEEE US letter two-column format used for conference papers. Templates in both work and LaTeX are available from IEEE at the following link

IEEE Templates

Additionally, papers must strictly adhere to the following requirements for IEEE COMPEL 2025

Paper Size: US letter (8.5" x 11")
Paper Length: Maximum 8 pages, including figures, tables and references.
File Format: Adobe PDF (.pdf)
Fonts: Embed ALL fonts in your PDF file. No Type 3 fonts allowed
Allowed File Size: 5 MB
Do NOT page number your paper
Do NOT apply security settings to your PDF file
The PDF file MUST be IEEE Xplore compliant. You must use IEEE PDF eXpress to ensure that your PDF is Xplore compliant (see below)
Notice Regarding Plagiarism

Per IEEE policy, all final papers submitted to IEEE will be reviewed for plagiarism using the IEEE cross check platform. See the IEEE Author Center for additional information on ethics requirements for conference publications.

Please avoid excessive self-citation in the final manuscript. Excessive self-citation occurs when authors excessively reference their own papers in their work. It can also arise when an author repeatedly cites the work of another author, which is known as redundant citation or repeated authors in the reference section. COMPEL may reject the full paper or request revision if excessive (>25%) self-citation is identified.

Paper Validation

Once your full paper pdf file is ready, log into IEEE PDF eXpress

First-time users will need to create their IEEE PDF eXpress account by clicking on Create account. You will need to use the COMPEL 2025 Conference ID, your email address and choose a password.

The Conference ID for COMPEL 2025 is: 57166X

Enter any additional information as prompted. An online confirmation will be displayed, and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Existing users of PDF eXpress should login using the above provided Conference ID for COMPEL 2025 and their existing credentials. Also verify that your contact information is correct.

Upload your file, convert it, and check the status of conversion. Once the conversion is complete, a report will be generated for the file conversion. Check whether conversion was successful, or some changes are needed.

Press the approve button next to your paper after validation is successful. Once you approve, a download link will appear allowing you to access the pdf file internally signed by PDF-eXpress. Download this file and use it as the full paper pdf file that you submit to EasyChair.

Paper Submission

Before uploading your full paper pdf file, make sure that the title of the paper in EasyChair matches the title in the full paper pdf file. Also check that all author names in EasyChair match with the authors listed in the full paper pdf file and appear in the same order. Also make sure you upload to EasyChair the full paper pdf file generated by IEEE PDF eXpress.

To upload the full paper pdf file, log into the COMPEL 2025 EasyChair submission page and follow these instructions:

  1. Select the "proceedings author (IEEE Proceedings)" role
  2. Update paper information and authors’ names and order. This can be done by either editing the fields or by clicking on the "Update authors" link in the right upper corner
  3. Upload the full paper pdf file by clicking on the "Upload new version" link in the upper right corner of the submission information page.

COMPEL 2025 also uses EasyChair to transfer copyright to IEEE. If you are an author of a paper with an unsigned copyright agreement, a link to sign the agreement will be available under your "Alerts" main menu tab accessible from anywhere in EasyChair. Your alerts will contain a link "IEEE copyright agreement for paper ...". Simply follow this link and you will be redirected to the IEEE eCF pages where the agreement can be signed.

Alternatively at your submission information page a “Sign Copyright Agreement” button will be available. Please note that if neither is available, one of your co-authors may already have signed the form on your behalf. Once submitted, the eCF form cannot be revised. No metadata for your final published paper is taken from the eCF so minor changes (including to authors) do not require a revision to the eCF. For any questions about your eCF form, contact mailIEEE copyright support.

Important note: A copyright submission form is required for each paper. Failing to submit an electronic copyright will result in denial of paper publication in both the COMPEL 2025 conference proceedings and the IEEE Xplore database.

The deadline to submit the full paper is June 16, 2025
